Taking strict action against those who burn garbage in the open and spread air pollution, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation has made 1761 invoices worth Rs 38.43 lakh in this month till date. From October 1 to tomorrow, 1,702 invoices worth Rs 26.43 lakh have been made against those who burn garbage in the open and 59 invoices worth Rs 12 lakh have been made against those who spread air pollution from October 1 to October 16, 2020.
In addition, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation has made 86 invoices by various departments under its jurisdiction such as DDA, Public Works Department, Irrigation and Flood Control Department to spread pollution from litter and construction and demolition waste on their land.
The North Delhi Municipal Corporation asked various government agencies such as the Government of Delhi, DDA, Public Works Department, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Indian Railways to oversee the unforeseen areas falling under its jurisdiction which are causing pollution. The total unexplored area under his jurisdiction is 16,87,413 sqm.
The Northern Corporation has deployed 134 water sprinkler tankers to sprinkle water. Which spray about 1340 km of water daily. 18 mechanical road sweepers equipped with GPS technology are cleaning about 650 km of roads daily. In the markets, schools, institutes etc., 109.88 acres of area has been planted and made green. 69.11 km of roadside plantation has been done. Vertical gardens have been developed at 54 places. All these measures have been taken to make the area green and reduce pollution.
North Delhi Municipal Corporation has appealed to the citizens to follow the instructions issued by the concerned agencies from time to time for pollution control, otherwise the corporation will take strict action against the polluters as per rules and provisions.
