In the case of the death of Vikrant Nagaich, student of National Law University (NLU) in Jodhpur Supreme court Has ordered fresh investigation to Rajasthan Police. The court has also canceled the closure report filed by the police. However, the Supreme Court has not ordered a CBI inquiry into the case. Let us tell that on September 8, the Supreme Court reserved the decision on the petition of the mother of the student to transfer the case to CBI and reprimanded the Rajasthan Police investigating the case on its final report.

For your information, let us know that in July, the Supreme Court ordered the Rajasthan Police to complete the investigation in two months. At the same time, in the hearing, a notice was given to the Government of Rajasthan on the petition of CBI investigation in the case and sought answers. After this, the police took action to close the case. The Supreme Court had said that first they would ask for a status report from the Rajasthan Police.

Significantly, the body of Vikrant, a student of National Law University, was found on August 14, 2017, near the tracks of Mandore railway station. The student's father described it as a case of murder but the Rajasthan Police investigation into the case was not completed. After this, the student's mother had filed an application in the Supreme Court and demanded transfer of the investigation to the CBI.
