Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in West Bengal before a rally in Assam, was welcomed by wearing a traditional shawl.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reaching West Bengal after Assam on Monday. At 4:30 pm, he will inaugurate several railway projects in Hooghly, West Bengal. However, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has distanced herself from the program. They will not be here. This is Modi’s third visit to Bengal in a month. Assembly elections are to be held here in April-May this year.
These projects will be flagged in Bengal
Why rally in Hooghly?
There are many reasons behind the Prime Minister’s rally in Hooghly. The biggest reason is that the BJP performed well in the last Lok Sabha election in Hooghly. BJP’s locket Chatterjee won from Hooghly in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, Modi’s public meeting has been kept here in an attempt to retain this victory.
Mamta’s rally after two days
This field has its own history. This area once belonged to Dunlop, Asia’s largest tire factory, but the Dunlop factory has been closed for years. In such a situation, people here are expecting some announcements from Modi. Two days after the Prime Minister’s rally, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s public meeting will also be held in this ground.
Inaugurated / laid the foundation stone of these schemes in Assam
Earlier on Monday, PM Modi inaugurated Indian Oil’s Indmax (INDMAX) unit at Bogaigaon, a subsidiary tank farm of Oil India Limited at Madhuban in Dibrugarh and a gas compressor station at Hebeda village in Tinsukia. The Prime Minister inaugurated Dhemaji Engineering College. Also laid the foundation stone of Sualkuchi Engineering College.
Old Governments Stepdad With Assam
In Assam, Modi said, ‘Assamese cinema started the journey 8 decades ago from this North Bank of Brahmaputra. Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika wrote – Both sides of the Brahmaputra will be illuminated with lamps. I saw on social media how you celebrated Diwali, how to light a lamp. It is also a picture of development in Assam. Infrastructure here is the basis of Assam’s development, but earlier governments treated the North Bank with steps. Our government, working with the support of all, development of all and faith of all, has removed discrimination.
