Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to hold an all-party meeting on June 24 on Jammu and Kashmir issue. Expresses happiness over Madani’s release
Meanwhile, Mehbooba took to social media to express happiness over Madani’s release. He wrote, ‘It is a matter of relief that PDP leader Sartaj Madani was finally released after six months of wrongful detention. Now the time has come for the Government of India to release the political prisoners rotting inside and outside the jails of Jammu and Kashmir. The pandemic could have been a major reason for his release.
Invitation sent to 14 parties for the meeting
Leaders of 14 parties, including National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, have been invited from Jammu and Kashmir for the meeting. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has confirmed this. According to the PMO, all the leaders have been informed to attend the meeting over the phone.
It will be mandatory to show them the corona negative report before the meeting. Farooq Abdullah and BJP’s Ravinder Raina have confirmed the meeting. Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina said that Prime Minister Modi has called all political parties of Jammu and Kashmir for an all-party meeting on June 24. I have received an invitation to this meeting.
Possible talks on issues like full state
According to sources, in the meeting of PM Modi, besides the ongoing political deadlock in Jammu and Kashmir, topics related to giving full statehood to the Union Territory can be discussed. The meeting is also expected to discuss the assembly elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir.
