The flexi cap scheme of mutual funds has given investors good returns over the years. Seeing its popularity, some fund houses have recently launched new schemes in this category. In the last one year, some schemes have given returns of more than 63% to the investors.
Birla’s return of 63.5% in 1 year
Data show that the Flexi Cap scheme of Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund has given a profit of 63.51% in 1 year as on 30 June 2021. While Kotak Flexi Cap has given a gain of 50.19 and Axis Flexi Cap has given a gain of 48.51%. Over a period of 3 years, Birla’s scheme has given 14.57%, HDFC’s FlexiCap has given 14.43% and Kotak’s scheme has given 13.94%. In 5 years, Flexi Cap of Birla has given 15.67% and Flexi Cap of Kotak has given 14.75% while Flexi Cap of HDFC has given 14.01%.

Talking about the Flexi Cap category, it has given 59.49% in 1 year, 13.31 in 3 years and 14.49% in 5 years. If one would have invested Rs 1 lakh in Birla’s flexi cap scheme 22 years ago, it would have become Rs 1.04 crore this time. That is, the benefit of 104 times has been received. In the same 1 year, the investment of 10 thousand rupees has become Rs 16,351 and in 5 years it has become Rs 20,718. The investment of 10 thousand 22 years ago has become Rs 10.48 lakh today. It has given returns at the rate of 22.57% CAGR since inception.
67% of total portfolio in large cap
The fund currently invests 67% of the total portfolio in large caps. The rest is invested in mid and small cap stocks. Its portfolio consists of 18 sectors and 66 stocks. The maximum exposure of this fund is in Banking, Financial, Services and Insurance which is 31%. This scheme of Birla was launched in 1998. In this scheme of the country’s fourth largest fund house, investors have got better returns than its counterpart fund house and category.
