Elon Musk, the world’s richest businessman, claims that Apple has threatened to remove the Twitter app from the iOS App Store. Musk also claimed in a tweet that Apple has stopped most ads on the platform. Musk wrote, ‘Apple has stopped most ads on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?’
In another tweet, Musk asked Apple CEO Tim Cook, “What’s going on here @tim_cook?” In addition, Musk asked in a poll whether Apple should publish all censorship actions that affect its users. However, there has been no response from Apple on Musk’s claims so far.
Apple criticized on 30% tax
Musk has also tweeted some other tweets which show that the tension between him and Apple is increasing. In a tweet, Musk criticized the fees charged by Apple’s App Store for in-app purchases. Did you know that Apple secretly charges a 30% tax on everything you buy through their App Store?
Musk’s declaration of war
Along with this, Musk has also posted the image. There is a sign board on the road in which a path goes straight. It is written on it ‘Pay 30% tax’. And the other way turns to the right, in which it is written ‘Go to War’. Below is a car with Allen written on it and it is turning to the right. Means Musk wants to tell that he is not going to bow down before Apple and is ready to fight.
App store boss deleted account
Apple App Store boss Phil Schiller deleted his Twitter account shortly after former US President Donald Trump’s account was restored. Earlier in November, Musk had said that Twitter’s revenue had taken a “huge” drop due to reduced advertising.
Several companies, including General Mills Inc and US luxury automaker Audi, have suspended advertising on Twitter.
