The Mughal Garden of Rashtrapati Bhavan has been renamed as Amrit Udyan

The garden of Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official home of the President, will now be known as Amrit Udyan. Till now it has been decided to change the name of this garden, known as Mughal Garden.Deputy Press Secretary to the President Navika Gupta told news agency ANI that on the occasion of the celebration of 75 years of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, India The President of India has given a common name to the Rashtrapati Bhavan Gardens as Amrit Udyan. However, the mention of both the names is being seen on the website of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

According to the website, Amrit Udyan was till now opened to the public only during the annual festival, Udyan Utsav. Which used to be held in the months of February-March. But now it will be open for the common people from August to March. Amrit Udyan draws inspiration from the Mughal Gardens located in Jammu and Kashmir, the gardens around the Taj Mahal and even miniature paintings from India and Persia.
