MP Mohan Delkars death: Mumbai police says, post mortem report confirms suicide


Mohan Dhelkar started his political career as a trade union leader


The post mortem report of Lok Sabha MP Mohan Delkar of Dadra Nagar Haveli has arrived. According to the Mumbai Police, the suicide has been confirmed in the post mortem report. According to the police, Dhelkar died due to respiratory block (suffocation). Significantly, the body of MP Mohan Dhelkar was found in a hotel in Mumbai on Monday. His body was found at Marine Drive’s Hotel Sea Green.

Significantly, Dhelkar, who was a six-time Lok Sabha MP, started his political career as a trade union leader in Silvassa. He founded the Tribal Development Organization in 1985. In 1989, he was elected as an independent MP for the Lok Sabha from Dadra Nagar Haveli for the first time. He won the 1991 and 1996 elections on Congress ticket. In 1998, he reached the Lok Sabha on a BJP ticket. Dhelkar won the Independence in 1999 and in 2004 Lok Sabha elections on the symbol of Bharatiya Navashakti Party. He joined Janata Dal United in 2020.
