Payment platform Google-Pay transferred US $ 10 to US $ 1000 (about Rs 818 to Rs 81 thousand) to some users due to a technical glitch, about which people happily shared on the social media platform Twitter. However, this happiness of the people did not last long.
The company quickly detected the technical glitch and then rolled back the amount credited to most Google Pay users’ accounts. However, there have also been cases where some Google Pay users used the money before it was reversed. For such users, Google has said that the money is yours, no further action is required for this.
Where did Google Pay users get money due to technical glitch?
In fact, whenever any type of payment is made through Google Pay, all users in the payment platform receive coupons in the “My Rewards” section. When scratching these coupons, many times app users get some money. It was here that some technical glitch occurred in the app, due to which people who scratched the coupons during the glitch got transferred from 10 to 1000 US dollars as cashback.
Twitter users expressed happiness by sharing the screenshot
A Twitter user named Mishal Rahman expressed happiness while sharing the screenshot. He said via tweet, “It seems that Google Pay is giving free money to random users right now. I just opened Google Pay and saw that I have $46 in “Rewards”. However, in the screenshots shared by the user, $ 13.25 (about Rs 1085) is visible as cashback.
Google Pay informed users through mail
Due to technical glitch, Google-Pay gave information by mailing the money transferred to the app users. The company mailed saying that “You have received the mail because money was credited to your Google Pay account by mistake. Now this issue has been resolved and as far as possible the money has been reversed. If we were able to reverse the money, then this activity has already been reflected in your account. If we were not able to reverse the money, the money is yours. No further action is required.” The screenshot of this mail has been shared by a Twitter user named Mishaal Rahman.
