The Prime Minister, Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah promised Mizoram's CM Jormathanga to know the situation and help. Earlier there was an earthquake of 5.1 on Sunday and 4.6 on June 18. According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake occurred at 4.10 am on Monday morning. Its center was 20 km below ground at Jokhawthar in Champhai district, across the Myanmar border.

Tremors were felt in many parts of the state including the capital. Several houses and buildings have been damaged in Jokwathar's church. With this, cracks occurred at many places on the highway and roads. The entire damage assessment is being done right now.

2.8 magnitude earthquake in Nagaland
Nagaland also experienced a 2.8 magnitude earthquake on Monday. Its center was 44 km east of the capital Kohima. According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicenter was 6.6 km from the ground.
