Half a dozen miscreants boarded the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh (Uttar Pradesh) as a ride in a private bus going from Delhi to Hamirpur and took lakhs of rupees from almost all the passengers. Looted the goods. On receiving information about the incident, all senior officials including the Inspector General of Agra Range reached the spot. The police has started searching for the miscreants. According to the police, the robbery incident occurred when the private bus left for Hamirpur from Delhi last night reached Surir Kotwali area of Mathura district ahead of Noida area around 1 am.

The miscreants boarded the bus as riders and after some time they took the bus hostage on the strength of arms and looted the cash and jewelry from the riders. The driver informed the police when the miscreant escaped from the bus after executing the incident.
IG Naveen Arora and SSP Dr Gaurav Grover reached the spot after getting information about the robbery in the bus.
SSP Dr. Gaurav Grover said that after collecting information about the miscreants’ hulia, dialect, gait and shields etc. from the bus riders, many different teams have been put in search of them. He informed that efforts are also being made to trace looters through mobile surveillance.

Surir Kotwali in-charge Inspector MS Rathi said that forensic evidence has been collected from the spot and an attempt has also been made to obtain clues through the dog squad. He said that in connection with the incident, the prosecution of the bus operator has been sued under sections 395 and 397 of Bhadvi. Rathi said that the miscreants have looted about twenty people out of which mobile phones of half a dozen people have also been looted.
