Australia’s Team India was shocked when middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer did not come for batting on the fourth day of the Ahmedabad Test due to complaints of lower back pain. Samson played the last ODI in November 2022
Samson played the last ODI for Team India in November 2022 on the tour of New Zealand. At the same time, the last T20 International match was played against Sri Lanka in Mumbai in January, where he suffered a leg injury while fielding. Samson is now recovering and ready to return to the field. This is the reason why he can be included in the ODI team against Australia.
