Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been infuriated by the announcement of the West Bengal 8 Phases Election in 8 phases. Mamta raised questions on the decision of the Election Commission in a press conference after announcing the election of 5 states on Friday. The voting process will begin on March 27 in West Bengal, separate from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry. The results will be announced on May 2 after a 33-day marathon election process in eight phases in Bengal
Mamta Banerjee said that she suspects that the dates were announced based on the suggestions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for better management of BJP’s election campaign. Mamta Banerjee said that the Election Commission should not look at West Bengal ‘with the eyes of the saffron camp’, their point was towards BJP.
The Trinamool Congress supremo said, ‘I respect the Election Commission, but questions are being raised as to why elections will be held in Bengal in many stages, while in other states there will be voting in one phase. If the Election Commission does not judge the people then where will the people go. But Mamta claimed that she would win the election despite all these tricks.
Mamta said, “I have come to know from my sources that the election dates are in the same way as the BJP wanted. The Prime Minister and the Home Minister cannot misuse their power for the election of Bengal. Expressing confidence that the Trinamool Congress would win the election, Banerjee said that she is the daughter of Bengal and knows the state better than the BJP.
