On Tuesday, 55,469 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in Maharashtra, after which the total cases increased to 31,13,354. With this, 297 more patients died due to the epidemic, taking the death toll to 56,330. The health department gave this information. There are 4,72,283 patients undergoing COVID-19 in the state. According to a release issued by the department, 25,83,331 patients have been cured so far.

Meanwhile, the Brihanmumbai Metropolitan Municipality (BMC) said that private hospitals in Mumbai can carry out rapid antigen screening of serious patients with cold-like symptoms, but those without symptoms will not be screened. Corona infection is detected early by RAT examination.

According to the new guidelines issued by BMC on April 5, no hospital can initiate rapid antigen screening without the permission of the local authorities. BMC said that patients without symptoms cannot be tested for RAT.
