On Thursday, 56,286 new cases of coronavirus (Maharashtra Coronavirus) were reported in Maharashtra, raising the total infection cases in the state to 32,29,547. With this, the death toll in the state rose to 57,028 due to the death of 376 more people. Maharashtra had 59,907 cases on Wednesday and 322 people died. The Maharashtra Health Department said that after a total of 36,130 patients were cured, they were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, due to which the number of patients who have been cured so far in the state has risen to 26,49,757. There are now 5,21,317 patients under treatment in the state.
Amid a sharp rise in cases of COVID-19, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) claimed that vaccine doses could not be given to people in 25 private hospitals in Mumbai on Thursday due to vaccine deficiency. The city municipal corporation said in a release that vaccine doses could not be given at 25 of the 71 centers approved for vaccination because vaccines were not available at these private health centers.

A total of 120 vaccination centers are being run in Mumbai, out of which 49 are being operated by the Maharashtra Government and BMC. The release said that 40,000 to 50,000 people are given vaccine doses every day at these centers. A statement from the state health department said that 2,36,815 corona tests were done in the state during the day and a total of 2,13,85,551 investigations have been done so far.
