In view of the increasing cases of infection, the state government imposed restrictions like lockdown from April 5. These have since been extended till 15 May. According to the government, 2,78,64,426 samples have so far been tested in Maharashtra on Monday with 2,11,668 samples tested.
On Monday, 59,500 people became free of infection. With this, 40,41,148 patients have been cured so far. In Maharashtra, the infection recovery rate (recovery rate) is 84.7 percent while the death rate is 1.49 percent. On Monday, 2,624 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in Mumbai, with the number of infected people in the city increased to 6,58,621. According to the health department, after the death of 78 more patients of Kovid-19 in Mumbai, the death toll rose to 13,372.
A large number of doctors in Maharashtra have also been corona infected. 519 resident doctors of the state have been infected with Kovid (Corona Positive). Only 203 Junior Doctor Kovid have been positive from Mumbai only. Kovid wards are also being made for children in Maharashtra amid fears of a third wave. Since March 2021, 203 doctors of government and BMC hospitals like Mumbai’s Nair, KEM, Cooper, Sion, JJ have been positive. According to the Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD), many of these doctors had taken the second dose of the vaccine.
