The security of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has been beefed up after receiving information about the threat to his life. Giving this information on Sunday, an official said that the State Intelligence Department (SID) got information in this regard on Saturday evening. State Intelligence Commissioner Ashutosh Dumbre has confirmed the receipt of information about the threat to the life of the Chief Minister.
“After specific information, we have taken necessary steps and the Chief Minister’s security has been beefed up,” Dumbre told PTI without sharing details. Category security is available.
Security has also been beefed up at Shinde’s private residence in Thane and Varsha’s official residence in Mumbai, the official said. Shinde is scheduled to address the Dussehra rally for the first time on October 5 at the MMRDA ground in Mumbai.
