Oxygen crisis may occur in hospitals of Madhya Pradesh, the state government has taken immediate action after this NewsBust report last week. Oxygen supply from neighboring states has been ensured. The state government has issued a release saying that Madhya Pradesh needs 110 tonnes of oxygen per day. Meanwhile, the central government has agreed to supply 50 tonnes of oxygen per day to Madhya Pradesh, due to which the availability of oxygen in the state has now increased to 180 tonnes per day.
However, even in the midst of these figures, there is a cloud of crisis over the oxygen supply in the state. In view of this, the state government has banned the industrial use of oxygen. There are now more than 90,000 corona infection cases in Madhya Pradesh and for the last five days, an average of 2000 patients are coming every day. There is a plan to triple the capacity in hospitals in the state by October – 3,600 oxygen beds and 564 ICU beds will be added, so it is clear that more oxygen will be required.
State Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang said, "Presently we have asked all the industrial oxygen supplying units in the state to refill the medical cylinder for its use. In view of the urgent need, the decision to ban the industrial use of oxygen Sabale was first taken in Indore by the collector of Indore 3 days ago.
