A major accident occurred near Etawah in the district on Wednesday morning. Here a boat sank while crossing the Chambal river in Khatoli village. About 30 people are said to be in the boat. Of these, the bodies of 7 have been found, while about 8 people are missing. 14 bikes were also placed in the boat to cross the river.
Soon after the incident, the villagers present at the scene tried to save the drowning people. But, a large number of people were swept away by the swift current of the river. Most people boarded the boat to visit Kamleshwar Dham near Gothala Kala. Police and administration reached the spot as soon as the incident was known.
The relatives of the missing people became insensitive.
According to the information, some people were crossing the Chambal river in a boat to go to Kamleshwar Dham. The boat became unbalanced in the middle of the river due to over-seating and the bike being placed in the boat. Where the boat capsized is the area between Chanada and Gothada village. The search operation has been started by the team of divers reaching the spot.
A woman's body was taken out of the river.
Bikes were tied with no feet
People said that the condition of the girl's boat was already bad. In which more passengers were accommodated. Also, bikes were also tied with the boat to cross the river. Due to which the boat could not bear the weight and sank.
Police said that the entire administration reached the spot as soon as the information was received. The bodies have been taken out with the help of villagers. People said that when they got the news of the boat overturning in the morning, they rushed to the river bank.
Another boat arrived to save people.

On finding out the incident, Kota MP and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla took information from the administration. The Lok Sabha Secretariat kept in touch with the district administration. SDRF team from Kota has been sent for the spot. The Lok Sabha Speaker's office is in constant touch with the district administration.
