‘Education is not just memorizing facts, but training the mind to think’

Welcome to Career Fund!

a new entrance attempt

Friends, as you probably know, UG is a completely new exam for admission which has been brought from 2022 for admission in universities and colleges. And this is ‘Common University Entrance Test (CUET)’(Some call it as Central University Entrance Test)

It is an All India exam which is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) for admission to UG courses in all the participating institutes.

why a new exam

The Ministry of Education believes that

1) CUET will provide a common platform to both urban and rural students of India, and rural students will think and apply (with a single exam) to central universities that used to be out of their reach.

2) Having a single process will reduce stress, cost less money (hopefully).

3) The process of marking will also be standardized.

This year 45 central universities and overall 88 universities participated in CUET 2022 to admit students to their graduation courses. In the next edition, CUET is expected to be even bigger and around 100+ universities are going to participate in it.

How to perform well at CUET: The Right Strategy

Today, I will give you 7 tips to prepare and succeed for this exam. Are you ready?

1) Know the Exam Pattern: Before preparing for CUET, go through the exam pattern. In the exam, there are three parts: Language, General Ability and Domain-specific part (most important). The exam is computer based. CUET Exam Pattern helps you to know the details of the exam. This will help you to build a good strategy around every square.

2) Split the course: You have to make a list of topics. Choose domain subjects carefully. Then divide them into strong and weak parts according to your personal experience and weightage. After finishing any part it is important to make notes and revise them at the end of the day.

3) Time-table required: Scheduling is not easy. Hit-and-trial. If done properly, it can give great results. Take out special slots for CUET exam preparation from your daily school or college routine (there was no age limit in this exam). In the beginning it can be one to two hours. Once the board exam is over you can devote most of your time to CUET.

4) Practice, Practice and Practice: Work on the concepts and give mock tests based on the exam pattern. These will help you understand your strengths, and also give you an idea of the week areas to work on. The advantage here is that both the syllabus for CUET and the board are NCERT syllabus. So by preparing for one, students get advantage in both. It is very important to practice different types of questions. The best way to score good marks in Quantitative-Reasoning section is to practice. Students should solve 40-50 questions daily from this section to develop their logical skills.

5) Set Goals: If you set a goal, then only you will try to achieve it. It is important to stay positive and believe in yourself. Sometimes preparing for this exam can lower your motivation level and make you feel bored but keep your morale up. Be calm and confident. Meditate to stay stress free and give your best on the exam day. The excessive pressure of board exams and CUET can be tough, which can dampen the spirit of a candidate. Thus, it is very important to take proper rest and prepare a study plan such that there are breaks at regular intervals.

6) Make Notes: Preparation for any exam can prove to be easy by making individual notes on each topic. Students can also segregate these subjects on the basis of difficult and easy sections. Making notes is beneficial in memorizing concepts as best as possible. Also, preparation is strengthened in the process of writing down what is read.

7) List of Colleges: Before starting their preparation, students need to make a list of CUET colleges or courses. Then, one must understand the previous year cut-off and counseling status of the particular college. This will help you to get an idea about the marks to be obtained in the examination to get admission in the desired course in a particular college.

So today’s career fund is to plan your career choice carefully with the rising sun of a new exam, and be successful.

Will show it!
