Arbaaz Khan was unable to pay the challan of ten thousand rupees. In an attempt to reach the office on time, he had jumped the signal several times. The challan of signal jump was Rs 10,000 pending on him. After giving the challan with 50 percent discount, Arbaaz’s response was, “I had to pay only Rs 5250, from now onwards I will not break the traffic signal.”
M Saleem, Special Traffic Commissioner of Bengaluru city told that “The challan of about 500 crore rupees is pending for a long time, that is, the challan of about 200 crore notice is to be collected. That’s why we have taken this step for the purpose of depositing the challan from the people. ”
The matter is not limited to challans only. Earlier, where challans used to be issued once in 24 hours for violating traffic rules, now challans will be deducted as many times as they are caught, whether the violation is caught by the camera or by the traffic police. That is, if you are going 3 kilometers without a helmet and are caught 3 times, then you will have to pay a fine of Rs 500 i.e. Rs 1500 each time.
Along with this, soon the traffic police will also check the insurance of vehicles in Karnataka. Till now this authority is with the Transport Department.
Moreover, 250 ANPR cameras i.e. Automated Number Plate Recognition Cameras have been installed at selected places in the city, which automatically record violations of seven types of traffic rules on the basis of Artificial Intelligence. Intelligent Traffic Management System launched in the city on 8 December 2022 was started in Bangalore.
