Karnataka: Dead man found alive just before autopsy process begins

A person injured in a motorcycle accident in Mahalingpur city of Karnataka was taken to the atopsy table. Even before the autopsy process began, it was revealed that he was alive. The 27-year-old man was brought to a private hospital in critical condition over the weekend. Later, the doctors declared him dead and removed his ventilator.

After the doctors were declared dead, his family took him to a nearby government hospital. His post-mortem was to be done there on Monday. His relatives told local media that a pathologist saw movement in the body of the person lying on the atopsy table.

A government health officer confirmed the incident and told AFP that the injured person was immediately admitted to another hospital. His condition is improving there.

The official said that the doctors of the private hospital took a “bad decision” and removed the ventilator and declared him dead. The official said that the family of the person has not yet given a formal complaint in this regard.
