BJP’s Marandi has got a total of 54567 votes in Dumka after thirteen phases while Basant Soren of JMM has got 57367 votes. It is important that till now only the counting of urban areas was done and as soon as the counting of votes in rural areas started, Marandi of BJP has started falling behind from spring. After the thirteen phase counting in Bermo, Yogeshwar Mahato of BJP has so far received 57835 votes while Kumar Jayamangal alias Anup Singh of Congress has got a total of 71039 votes. Due to which he has now got ahead of BJP with a big margin of 13204 votes.

The counting of by-elections for 10 Dumka and 35 Bermo assembly seats under Dumka and Bokaro districts in Jharkhand started at 8 am on Tuesday amid heavy security. Joint Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand (Joint CEO) Hiralal Mandal said that the counting of votes in both the assembly constituencies started at 8 am on Tuesday. While in Dumka, counting of votes will be done in 18 rounds, in Bermo the counting of votes will be done in 17 rounds. He told that if everything is normal, the counting of votes is likely to be completed by 4:30 pm. Mandal said that adequate security arrangements have been made for counting of votes in both the assembly constituencies and adequate deployment of Central Armed Forces has been done for this purpose.
