The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Friday successfully test-fired the Human Rated Solid Rocket Booster (HS200). It was launched at 7.20 am from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. Scientists have prepared this rocket booster for India’s first manned mission, Gaganyaan.

According to ISRO, the HS200 rocket booster is a human-rated version of the S200 rocket booster of the GSLV MK3 Satellite Launch Vehicle. At the same time, the human rated version of GSLV MK3 will be called HRLV. Dr. Unnikrishnan Nair, Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Center said, the successful test of the rocket booster will prove to be a milestone for the Gaganyaan mission.

The HS200 was tested for 135 minutes with 203 tonnes of solid propellant. This 20 meter long and 3.2 diameter rocket booster is the second largest operational booster in the world. According to ISRO, 700 parameters were monitored during the test. Surprisingly, ISRO prepared the design, development, realization and testing process of this rocket during the Corona epidemic.
