A major accident occurred during the England-Iran match on Monday in the Football World Cup. Iranian goalkeeper Alireza Baranvand was badly injured after clashing with his own player. Blood started flowing from his nose. During this, the game stopped for a few minutes. Even after bleeding, he continued to play in the field with a bandage, but after some time he fell on the field. Due to which he had to be taken out of the ground on a stretcher.

The Group-B match of the FIFA World Cup was played between England and Iran at the Khalifa International Stadium. In the 9th minute after the start of the match, Iran’s goalkeeper Alireza Baranvand, wearing the number one jersey, clashed with his own team player Majid Hosseini. The goalkeeper was trying to keep the ball coming in from England’s right wing, but fell to the ground after colliding with a teammate.
Blood started flowing from his nose. The game did not start for about 7 minutes after the injury. Iran’s medical team came to the ground. The team looked at the goalkeeper and put a bandage on his nose.

Substitution in the 17th minute
The goalkeeper continued to play despite the injury, but fell to the ground in the 17th minute of the first half. Substitute goalkeeper Hossein Hussaini came in his place. Due to the injury of the goalkeeper, 14 minutes of injury time was added at the end of the first half.
In place of Baranvand, who was included in the playing XI, Hossein Hussaini came on the field as a substitute goalkeeper. He was wearing the number 24 jersey.
3 goals scored in the first half itself
Hossein, who went on to do goalkeeping for Iran after the substitution, could not stand in front of the English attack. He got his first goal just 17 minutes after entering the field. England’s Jude Bellingham scored the goal in the 35th minute itself. After this, Bukayo Saka scored in the 43rd and Rahim Sterling scored in the injury time of the first half.

The performance of the Iranian goalkeeper was disappointing in the second half as well. English players also scored 3 goals in this half. In response, Iran also scored 2 goals. Mehdi Taremi scored the first goal for Iran in the 65th minute. In the injury time of the second half, it was Taremi who scored from the penalty spot.
