RCB won the match by 10 runs thanks to the superb bowling of Yuzvendra Chahal and the blistering batting of AB de Villiers. There was a time that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) would win this match easily. Jonny Bairstow had scored 61 runs and was leading towards victory. Then Yuzvendra Chahal came to bowl and took two consecutive wickets. Due to which RCB returned to the match. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled Johnny Bairstow by putting a great spin on Yuzvendra Chahal. Sunrisers Hyderabad needed 43 runs off 30 balls and had 8 wickets in their hands. RCB was in dire need of a wicket. Virat Kohli played the bet and gave the ball to Yuzvendra Chahal. Yuzvendra Chahal bowled Johnny Bairstow on the second ball. Captain Kohli was so happy to see Bairstow getting out that he started screaming. Then on the next ball, Chahal also bowled all-rounder Vijay Shankar. After this the match was caught by RCB.

After half-centuries from young Devadatta Padikkal and veteran AB de Villiers, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made a positive start to their campaign in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by beating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 10 runs here on Monday.
Playing his first match in IPL, Padikkal scored 56 runs with the help of eight fours in 42 balls while De Villiers scored 51 runs in 30 balls which included four fours and two sixes. With these innings played at the start of the innings and at the end of the innings, RCB scored 163 runs for five wickets after being invited to bat first.
In response, the Sunrisers team were dismissed for 153 runs in 19.4 overs. Johnny Bairstow (61 off 43 balls, six fours, two sixes) and Manish Pandey (34 off 33 balls, three fours, one six) added 71 runs for the second wicket.
