Team India will go against New Zealand in the final of the World Test Championship with this new jersey.
The first day of the World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand was washed out on Friday due to rain. Couldn’t even toss. There is little chance of rain in Southampton today, so the game is expected to take place. The match will start at 3 pm. Indian captain Virat Kohli had declared his playing-11 on Thursday itself. If some veterans including Sunil Gavaskar and team’s fielding coach R Sridhar are to be believed, then Kohli can make changes before the toss. However the probability of this is very less.
Whereas even after a day, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson could not decide his playing-11. Kiwi team opener Tom Latham has also said this. He told the news agency that we have not decided our final XI yet. We are looking for an opportunity to inspect the wicket (pitch) again. I’m pretty sure Williamson and the team have done a thorough study about it.
Team India’s playing-11 declared
Captain Virat Kohli has declared the playing-11 on Thursday evening itself. The team will land at The Aegis Bowl ground with 2 spinners and 3 pacers. Ashwin and Jadeja will handle the spin department. At the same time, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma will be responsible for the pace bowling. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will open. At the same time, apart from captain Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant will be there in the middle order.
How many chances of change in Team India’s playing-11?
Both teams would like to bat first
Toss can also play an important role in this match. There have been 6 Tests in The Aegis Bowl so far. Out of this, the team batting first has won the match twice and the team batting after has won the match once. In such a situation, the team winning the toss would like to bat first.
Kohli’s record in toss is very poor
However, Indian captain Kohli’s record with the toss has not been good. So far, he has captained Team India in 200 matches including all three formats. Out of this, they have won the toss in just 85 matches. They have lost the toss in 115 matches. Their toss win/loss ratio is 0.74. This is the worst among players who have captained India in 100 or more matches.
The pitch at The Aegis Bowl in Southampton has been built under the supervision of pitch curator Simon Lee as per the instructions of the ICC. Recently he had told that there will be pace, bounce and carry on the pitch. The first 3 days of the Test will benefit the fast bowlers, while the last two days can help the spinners.
Simon Lee said that pace always makes red ball cricket exciting. I am also a cricket fan and want to make such a pitch where cricket fans like to watch every ball and enjoy it. Be it class batting or a great bowling spell. When there is a tough competition between the bowler and the batsman, it is quite exciting to see a maiden over. We don’t want to make the pitch for one-sided bowlers.
If the result is not available in 4 days then reserve day will be used.
The ICC has also kept a reserve day in the match. After washing on the first day, if the result is not found within 4 days, then the reserve day will be used. To compensate for the loss due to rain, June 23 has been kept as a reserve day. The more time is lost, the more time will be extended on the reserve day. This will be announced by the match referee one hour before the end of the 5th day of the Test match.
prize to the winner
The team that becomes the champion will get a prize money of $ 1.6 million (about Rs 11.71 crore). At the same time, the team that loses in the final will be given $ 8 lakh (about Rs 5.85 crore). The champion team will get the prize money as well as the Test Championship mace.
