India has urged the European Medical Agency (EMA) to include CoveShield and Covaxin in the Green Pass.

According to sources, India has clearly said that if the Medical Agency (EMA) of European countries does not include Kovashield and Covaxin in the Green Pass, then we will also not accept the vaccine certificate of these countries. In such a situation, citizens of European countries will also be quarantined in India.

The European Union has eased travel restrictions under its ‘Green Pass’ scheme. According to sources, India has requested the 27 member countries of the grouping to consider separately on allowing Indians who have been vaccinated against CoveShield and Covaxin to travel to Europe.

Green pass scheme is being implemented from July 1
The European Union’s digital COVID certificate scheme ‘Green Pass’ is being implemented from 1 July. Under this, free movement will be allowed during the corona epidemic. According to sources, India has told the European Medical Agency that the certificates of people vaccinated in India can be verified on the Kovin portal. According to sources, India has said that it will also exempt people who bring green passes from mandatory quarantine.

Coveshield confident of getting EMA approval in a month
Serum Institute of India (SII) CEO Adar Poonawalla said on Wednesday that the company is confident of getting approval from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for its Kovid-19 vaccine CoveShield in a month. Poonawalla also said that the issue of vaccine passports should be on an inter-country basis.

EMA approved green pass for only 4 vaccines
The European Medicines Agency (EMA), an EU agency, has so far approved only four COVID-19 vaccines to green pass, including BioNTech-Pfizer’s Comiranti, Moderna, Oxford-AstraZeneca’s Vaxjeveria and Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen. .

Oxford-AstraZeneca’s Vaxjeveria, manufactured in the UK and Europe, is approved but CoveShield is not approved for Green Pass, while Oxford-AstraZeneca in collaboration with Serum Institute of India in India has named its vaccine as CovyShield . The Coveshield manufactured by Serum Institute has also been recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO). At the same time, EMA says that Serum Institute has not applied for approval yet, so Coveshield has not been approved.
