An important meeting was held in New Delhi on Tuesday with Russia, a close friend of India. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is visiting India. Today he has a meeting with Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, after which a joint press conference was held on behalf of both the countries. During this, S Jaishankar said that Indo-Russian relations have always been very strong, separate and stable. At the same time, questions were also asked to the Russian Foreign Minister on relations with China.
On the question asked by Sergei Lavrov about Russia’s proximity to China in the conference, he said that ‘our relations with China are not against any country’.
S. Jaishankar said that during this meeting, the two countries also talked about nuclear energy, defense, economic, connectivity and the Russian vaccine. He also said that the preparations for the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India in the next few months were discussed in great detail. He said that the bilateral relations between the two countries are energetic and encouraging.

He said that the two countries also talked on the issue of economic cooperation and connectivity, under which the International North-West Transport Corridor and Chennai-Vladivostok Maritime Corridor were also discussed. He said that both countries want to invest on a large scale in each other. Russia’s contribution is important in India’s Gaganyaan program. At the same time, Russia has cooperated on the issues of defense needs.

He said about the Russian vaccine that ‘we have discussed the vaccine. Our regulators have to decide how much vaccine to produce. Vaccines made in India are being sent to many countries. Let us know that the subject of production of Russian vaccine in India has been under discussion for quite some time.
On the other hand, on the Afghanistan issue, Lavrov said that ‘any agreement can be reached only with taking every side. Peace and security cannot be ensured without it. India also has a role in this. On the question of US ‘pressure’, Lavrov said that ‘We did not say that the US is putting pressure (not to do a defense deal)’. Such a thing is done from the US side only.
