- India is also looking towards European markets to buy more winter clothes considering its immediate needs.
India has purchased warfare kits from the US for high altitude areas. Officials aware of this said tensions with China continue. In view of this, the South Asian country has started preparing for a confrontation even in winter. A large number of troops need to be deployed on the actual line of control (LAC) during the winter season. Due to this, winter clothes have been bought from America and Europe.
The agreement reached in 2016 in the US
Winter clothes have been purchased under the Logistics Exchange Memorandum Agreement (LEMOA) between India and the US. The agreement was reached in 2016. Under the agreement, logistic support and supply can be provided between the soldiers of the two countries. This includes clothes, food, lubricants, spare parts, medical services as well as other essentials.
India occupies 13 important peaks
India is also looking towards European markets to buy more winter clothes, given its immediate needs. Indian troops occupy 13 important peaks south of Pangong Lake in Ladakh, where they are full of strength in minus 25 degree Celsius temperatures.
On October 12, the seventh round met
On October 12, the Corps Commander level meeting was held for about 11 hours in Chushul to resolve the border dispute. The possibility of security forces being removed on LAC during winter is now very low. Because of this, India will have to make large-scale logistic adjustments.
Indian eye on Chinese military antics
India captured important mountain peaks like Rechan La, Rejang La, Mukarpi, and Table-Top on 30 August. People do not live in these areas on the southern bank of Pangong Lake. The army has also deployed some personnel near the blacktop. These deployments were made after China tried to take provocative military measures. India’s control over these 13 peaks has made it easier to keep an eye on China’s occupied Spangur Gap and the People’s Liberation Army.
Galvan Valley 15 thousand feet above sea level
The Indian Army will have to stock winter items for about 35 thousand additional troops deployed at the forward location. Most of the conflict points in Ladakh, such as Pangong Lake and Galvan Valley, where collisions have occurred, are 15,000 feet above sea level.
Air Chief Marshal Air Chief Marshal R.K. Bhadauria said earlier this month that China is busy preparing for winter in eastern Ladakh. Our further action will depend on the ground reality. He said that China cannot be better than us in any conflict.
