In two incidents on Wednesday in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, three youths were swept away in the waters of river Ganga. According to the information received from the police, a campaign was launched in the river to search for the three youths. However, nothing has been known about them so far. The first incident took place at Namami Gange Ghat in Shivpuri, Rishikesh, where two members of a group of youths who had come to bathe in the Ganges on the occasion of Holi were washed away. Both the youths were B.Tech students who were studying in Dehradun. While bathing in the river, both started drowning when they went into deep water.

The deceased have been identified as Aditya Raj, a resident of Kolkata in West Bengal and Utkarsh, both aged 22, from Agra in Uttar Pradesh. Swept away in the water of the river. The young man was swept away with the river water by slipping his foot on the bank. The youth has been identified as Shobhit Yadav (30), a resident of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh.
In both the incidents, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team launched a search operation. However, nothing has been found about them yet. Police said that a search operation will be conducted again on Thursday.
