new Delhi. The central government has decided to increase the price of an injection named Heparin by 50%. The special thing is that this injection is also being given to cancer patients admitted in ICU. This injection is given to patients to eliminate blood clots in the lungs.

The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has decided to increase the maximum price of heparin by 50%. Many companies are making this injection. After this decision, these companies will be able to charge 50% more than the current price. Different companies have different injection prices.

NPPA Chairman Shubhra Singh said that it is true that this injection is important for Kovid patients. But from the year 2018, the price of its raw material (API) has increased by 200 percent. Despite this, the price was not increased. To ensure the availability of the drug, NPPA has decided to increase its maximum price.
