Keshav Maharaj took 2 wickets in the second innings against West Indies.
Celebrating the wicket of South African spinner Keshav Maharaj proved costly. Maharaj, playing against the West Indies in Johannesburg, dismissed Kyle Mayers on Sunday. As soon as Maharaj started celebrating, pain arose in his heel. After this he had to be taken out of the field on a stretcher.
Cricket South Africa said on Sunday that Maharaj had suffered a tendon injury in the upper part of the back heel. He will meet the surgeon on Monday.
Keshav Maharaj is wearing an air walker shoe on his feet. This reduces swelling in the feet.
Maharaj fell on the pitch
Maharaj appealed for LBW against Kyle Mayers, it was given not out and then captain Bavuma took DRS. As soon as the DRS was successful, Maharaj took a running step to celebrate and suddenly fell on the pitch and caught hold of his left leg. He writhed in pain and teammates tried to help him before medics arrived.
Maharaj bowled 2.5 overs and took 2 wickets. South Africa won the two test match series 2-0.

South Africa defeated West Indies by 284 runs in the second Test being played in Johannesburg. South Africa won on the fourth day. South Africa scored 321 runs in the second innings and set West Indies a target of 391 runs. West Indies could only score 106 runs in reply and got all out. Temba Bavuma was the player of the match. He scored 171 runs in the second innings.
