Today there is a technical problem in HDFC Bank’s mobile banking and Punjab National Bank (PNB) netbanking. HDFC Bank has said that it has informed customers about the problem in the mobile banking app. It has said that efforts are being made to remove these problems on priority basis. The bank has advised customers to use NetBanking for the time being.
Problem in online banking of PNB is coming for a long time.
PNB has told in an alert issued to the customers that due to technical reasons, there is a problem in its internet banking. In fact, some customers had spoken about problems in online banking of PNB through Twitter. Its customers are finding it difficult to transact through net banking, bank application or UPI. The problem in the online banking facility of PNB is not coming today, it is coming for a long time.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) took strict action against HDFC Bank in December last year. Then during the last two years, it had banned its new launch due to several problems in the bank’s digital channel. The Reserve Bank is conducting a third party audit of the IT system of HDFC Bank.

Other competitors, including ICICI Bank, have benefited greatly from the RBI’s ban on the new launch of HDFC Bank. ICICI Bank has launched several services including IMobilepay on the digital platform. This mobile banking app of the bank allows customers of any bank to access payment and banking services. Significantly, in the March quarter, the number of cardholders of ICICI Bank had increased by 672,911. Whereas during this period the number of customers of HDFC had decreased by 322,999.
