The Joint Commander Conference of the top commanders of the Army is going to start in Kevadia, Gujarat (Gujarat) from Thursday. This conference will be addressed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday and Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) on Saturday. It will also include CDS General Bipin Rawat, NSA Ajit Doval, Chief of Army Staff Manoj Mukand Narwane, Air Force Chief Airchief Marshal RKS Bhadauria and Naval Chief Admiral Karmbir Singh. For the first time, jawans will also participate in a session of the conference. For the first time, the soldiers will openly discuss in front of such big officers. Until now, only the officers of the commander-in-chief of the three parts of the army participated in this conference to be held annually.
This conference becomes very important in view of the conflict with China in eastern Ladakh and the border confrontation with Pakistan. Although the Chinese army has retreated to areas such as Pegong Lake, Hot Sping and Gogra, but has not completely returned to its old place. Tension remains on the border from Ladakh to Arunachal. In the same last week, in the DGMO level statement, Pakistan has said to respect the LoC but it hardly survived.
The Prime Minister will take stock of the situation of the army on the front of China and Pakistan. There will be talk on all matters ranging from the functioning of the army to the operations. The internal situation within the country will be evaluated and the strategy to deal with the current challenges will be discussed.
Before 2014, this conference used to be held in South Block of Delhi, but when PM Modi first addressed the commanders in South Block in 2014, he suggested that such conferences should be held in operational base instead of Delhi. After this conference was held at the Congress INS Vikramaditya, at the India Military Academy Dehradun and at the airbase of Jodhpur.
