On Tuesday, 26 corona patients died in Goa’s government hospital GMCH. This has led to a tussle between Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.

In fact, Health Minister Rane has demanded an inquiry from the High Court to find out the cause of death of the patients. He said that these patients died between 2 am and 6 am late night, which is a fact, but the reasons for the death are not clear. Rane even said that there is a shortage of oxygen in the hospital.

At the same time, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had also visited GMCH, but he clearly stated that there is no shortage of oxygen in the state. He said that patients had problems due to the difference between oxygen supply till the ward.

The court should investigate so that things can be fixed
After Sawant’s visit to the hospital, Rane has demanded that the High Court should conduct an inquiry to find out the exact cause of death. The court should intervene in the case and prepare a white paper regarding the supply of oxygen to the hospital, which will help in fixing things.

Rane said that 1200 large cylinders of medical oxygen were needed here on Monday, but only 400 were supplied. He said that if there is a shortage of medical oxygen supply, then discussion should be done to overcome this deficiency. Rane said that the state government has formed a 3-member team of nodal officers to monitor the treatment of corona patients in GMCH, they should inform the CM in this regard.

CM had said- problem of oxygen supply in the ward
Earlier, the Chief Minister met patients in the corona ward at GMCH wearing a PPE kit. The Chief Minister had said that the problems related to oxygen in these wards need to be removed. He also announced a ward-wise mechanism to ensure the supply of medical oxygen. Sawant said that we have abundant medical oxygen. There is no shortage of it in the state.
