A case under the National Security Act (NSA) has been registered against the Samajwadi Party leader who was arrested in connection with the assault on an elderly person in Ghaziabad. The UP Police had arrested Umaid Wahlan saying that he had given a religious color to the matter by doing a Facebook live with the victim Abdul Samad.
On June 5, some people had picked up Abdul Samad from the Loni area and threatened him at knife point. Calling him a Pakistani spy, one of them cut Abdul Samad’s beard and allegedly raised slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
