New Delhi / Lucknow:
Arvind Kumar Sharma, a trusted former IAS officer of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, joined the BJP today. He was included in the party at the BJP’s state office in Lucknow in a program. Recently he took voluntary retirement. Sharma was a secretary in the MSME ministry. There is a possibility that he will be sent to the Legislative Council of Uttar Pradesh. There is also the possibility and discussion that they can get important responsibility in the state government as well.
Arvind Kumar Sharma has been with Narendra Modi as CMO in Gujarat and PMO at the Center for nearly twenty years and has been a special captain of his team. He hails from Mau, UP and was a 1988 batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer.
He joined the party in Lucknow in the presence of BJP state president Swatantradev Singh and deputy CM Dinesh Sharma today at 12 noon on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. He stayed in Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s office in Gujarat from 2001 to 2013. After Modi became the PM, he was brought to the 2014 PMO. First he held the post of Joint Secretary and then became Secretary. Some time ago the PM made him a secretary in the MSME ministry.
Arvind Kumar Sharma was supposed to retire in the year 2022, but two years before his retirement, the VRS was a hot market in political circles as he could do BJP politics even after retiring after two years. Therefore, there is speculation that Modi wants to give him some big responsibility by building MLC in UP. Sharma comes from Bhumihar fraternity.
On this occasion, he said, “Last night I was asked to join the party. I am happy that I got a chance. I have come out of a backward village, become an IAS and bring it to BJP today without having any political background.” Great thing, it is possible only in BJP. ”
