India (India) wants normal neighborly relations with Pakistan but Islamabad should take credible action against terrorism and create a suitable environment for it. This was said by Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan on Thursday. Answering a question asked in the Rajya Sabha regarding India's current policy regarding Pakistan, the Union Minister said, "India wants normal neighborly relations with Pakistan but for this Islamabad should be created. He will have to ensure that he will not allow his land to be used across the border for terrorists.

Regarding the steps taken in response to Pakistan on the issue of terrorism, V Muralitharan said, "As a result of the government's persistent efforts, the international community's concern about 'nurtured' terrorism from Pakistan has increased. There has also been pressure on Pakistan over the activities of terrorist organizations such as Jamaat-ud-Dawa, Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaishe Mohammad and Hizbul Mujahideen. Allied countries have told Pakistan that they will not allow their land to be used for terrorist activities in any way.
