According to the rules, the minimum height to participate in the Femina Miss India beauty pageant should be 5.5 feet, while Isha's height was 5.4 feet.

  • KN College student launched a campaign on social media to change the rules, change with strong support
  • Isha says – there is no such rule in Miss India and Miss World, there even 5.1 feet model can win the title

When Isha Chaudhary, a second-year student and model at KN College in the city, started filling the form for Femina Miss India Contest, it broke her heart seeing the rules of minimum height. As per the rules, the minimum height to participate in the Femina Miss India beauty pageant should be 5.5 feet. While the height of Isha was only 5.4 feet. But she did not lose courage and stood against this rule.

Started the campaign on social media and in this campaign thousands of girls from all over the country, who wanted to do modeling, got involved. After all, Femina had to bow down and now she has changed the rules to 5.3, reducing the minimum height condition by two inches to participate in the Femina Miss India beauty pageant.

Isha told, "I was preparing this contest for the second year. When Femina Miss India started filling forms for 2020, there was a minimum height rule. Because his height was less than the set criteria. With such low margins, she was unable to participate in the competition. "When she talked to her group and other models, it was found that due to this rule a large number of girls are not able to make a favorite career.

Isha decides to challenge this heightened rule. Launched the campaign on Social Media in June 2020 with the hashtag Five Foot for Miss India. Initially 50 girls joined and later not only Rajasthan, Assam, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi got support of 80 thousand girls.

Rationale: How can beauty be measured by height?

She says that there is no such rule in Miss India and Miss World. There, even the 5.1 feet model can win the title by taking part. Which can prevent Femina from fulfilling Indian girls' dreams based on minimum height condition. He told that the average height of an Indian woman is about 5 feet 1 inch, so why is beauty considered only about height and skin color?

Isha, who has won many state level pageants including Miss Rajasthan, Elite Miss Rajasthan, told how the height of beauty determines the height. There are many other features which include Mental Ability, Style, Vision, Presentation, Roop etc. Isha said, we not only ran camp on the social media, but also filed a PIL.

Even those with less than 5.5 feet height have won the title

  • In 1963, Jamaica's Karol Joan Crawford won the Miss World title, beating 39 contestants. Her height was 5 feet 3 inches at that time, which was lower than the height criteria of Miss World at that time.
  • The height of Luz Merina Zuluaga of Colombia, which won the title of Miss Universe in 1958, was also 5 feet 3 inches.
  • Carissa Cameron, who won the Miss America title in 2010, is 5.4 feet tall.
