Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh disclosed the matter a few days ago, stating that during the investigation such houses have been found where TRP meters were installed. A single channel was run throughout the day by paying money to the people of these houses, so that the TRP of the channel would increase. He had also told that some houses have come to know, which were closed, in spite of which the TVs used to go on. In response to a question, the commissioner also said that up to 500 rupees were given daily to these families from the channel or agency.
The work of installing People’s Meters in Mumbai was given to an agency named Hansa. Some people of this agency did this game in association with the channel. During the investigation, Hansa’s former employees shared confidential household data.
