CM Flying has busted a fake call center in Gurgaon on Friday night. It is alleged that the people of USA were being cheated through the center. The director of the center was also arrested by raiding secret information, who has been identified as Vikram Verma, a resident of Harinagar, Delhi. Four computers and four laptops were also captured from the spot.
On Friday evening, Chief Minister Udandasta Gurgaon in-charge Indrajit Singh was informed about the operation of the fake call center at JMD Mega Police Mall on Sohna Road. The team was then formed under the leadership of Inspector Krishna Kumar. Then a raid was carried out with the team of Sadar police station and detac lab. The work was going on as the complaint was received. The people of USA were being cheated through the center. Previously, call center employees used to send messages of expiry of validity through pop-ups in anti-virus and other software in laptops and computers. Then customers contacted and sold antivirus (Bit, Defender, Casper Sky) as well as other software and hardware.
The center had 38 computers and laptops, which the staff were working on. The director of the center, Vikram Verma, was instructing everyone. He was talking about getting dollars into the account in the name of selling antivirus and other software. When she was asked to show the license or NOC of the center, she could not produce anything. He was then arrested.
According to the interrogation of the accused, the employees used to target the people of USA using remote, access software and ibim dialer for calls. After this, they used to take dollars to remove pop-ups from their computers and laptops and to fix other antivirus related reasons.
Sadar police station in-charge Dinesh Kumar said that the Center Director Vikram Verma has been taken on a one-day remand for questioning on Saturday afternoon. Let us know that even before this many fake call centers have been caught in the city.
