The benefit of this scheme will be available only to those companies which work in the manufacture of drones and drone components in India. The total PLI per manufacturer is capped at Rs 30 crore which is 25% of the total financial outlay.
Those enterprises and startups in the MSME sector manufacturing drones whose annual sales turnover is two crore rupees will be able to take advantage of this scheme.
Significantly, the Narendra Modi government at the Center has also emphasized on the production of drones under the Make in India programme. The Center had banned the import of drones except for a few things. This ban was imposed at the beginning of the year in the month of February.
It is noteworthy that there are different types of drones which can be used in the fields ranging from defense to agriculture and better results can be obtained. Unreasonable use of drones in India also posed a threat to the security system, after which the government came into action and then many restrictions were imposed. The government’s emphasis is also on trying to solve this type of problem in the new policy.
