DRDO to establish 500 oxygen plant in country within 3 months

Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is going to set up 500 Oxygen plants across the country within three months. The plants at AIIMS and RML in Delhi will be operational from tomorrow. It produces 1000 liters of oxygen in one minute which can be given to 200 patients simultaneously. This technology was made for Tejas Aircraft but this technology has been given to the industry. It has been awarded to Tata, L&T. Wherever needed in the country, it can be planted everywhere.

DRDO Chief Satish Reddy said that where the Health Ministry will say, we will put it there. It can also be done in a small hospital. 500 liters of oxygen can be produced in one minute, it comes to 40 lakh to 80 lakh rupees. DRDO hospital will start from today. It will start two-three days in Banaras and soon in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand. The hospital in Delhi will be of 500 to 1000 beds in 10 days. It is expected that the oxygen crisis in Delhi will reduce to a great extent for 4-5 days.

Significantly, to combat the corona epidemic, a 900-bed hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat in collaboration with the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has been started from Saturday. Damayanthi Kovid Hospital is built in collaboration with DRDO and Government of Gujarat. The hospital has 150 ICUs and beds equipped with 750 oxygen.
