new Delhi :
The Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and the Delhi Police have launched a new campaign to make the sex worker self-reliant. Under this, Diyas decorated with the hands of Delhi’s sex worker will be sold in Deepawali.
More than 2000 sex workers work in more than 30 rooms on the Red Road area of Delhi, GB Road. They live by body trade. With the inspiration of Delhi Legal Services Authority and Kamla Market Police, nearly 200 women trapped in the swamp of body trade have shown the courage to leave this business. For this, the law and police have started a workshop together. In this workshop where DLSA will give legal help to bring them back to civilized society, Delhi Police will teach them the tricks of living.
Now Kamla Market Police is teaching them colorful decorations. Delhi Police will be the buyer of the goods prepared by them. So that they can be encouraged and removed from the body trade to make them self-sufficient.
The judges and lawyers on behalf of Delhi Legal Services Authority DLSA have also come forward. Judge Gautam Manan said that these women, who are neglected by the society, can get help to get their rights under the judicial process. For this, a three-day camp has been organized in the red light area.
