Wrestlers’ sit-in protest against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh continued for the third day on Friday. Describing the strike as pre-planned, Brij Bhushan blamed Deepender Hooda, Congress MP from Haryana, Rajya Sabha.

He has described Dipendra Hooda as the mastermind of this dharna. Also said that Deepender Hooda has hatched this conspiracy for the upcoming elections in Haryana. All the protesting wrestlers belong to the same community.

Dainik NewsBust India had an exclusive conversation with MP Deepender Hooda about this. He said that Brij Bhushan, accused of such heinous crimes, is giving it a political shape.

NewsBust India: WFI President Brij Bhushan has made allegations that Deepender Hooda has conspired for the elections, how much truth is there in this?
Hooda: Brij Bhushan is accused of such heinous crimes (sexual abuse), whoever supports all the protesting wrestlers including women wrestlers will accuse him of complicity. It is very unfortunate that such accused are politicizing it in their defence.

NewsBust India: So is Deepender Hooda involved in this episode in any way or not?
Hooda: Now the whole country is in his support, we are also supporting him. The whole country is raising its voice against the wrong.

NewsBust India: You are with the players, so what kind of action would you justify in this?
Hooda: President Brij Bhushan resigns. Wrestling Federation should be disbanded. There should also be a CBI inquiry into this. Because whoever is guilty in this episode, strict action should be taken against them.

NewsBust India: Is there any other name in the circle of allegations other than the Speaker?
Hooda: Names of one or two more coaches are coming out in this, strict action should be taken against them also. There should be an impartial inquiry into the whole matter. The whole truth should come before the country.

NewsBust India: When international players are also sitting on dharna for justice by making such allegations, will there be any impact on the new players and their families?
Hooda: These are not ordinary people. These culprits should be punished. So that parents send their children to the sports world without fear.

NewsBust India: Brij Bhushan alleges that the players protesting almost belong to the same community, so Deepender Hooda contacted them and got them done.
Hooda: Players should not be divided on the basis of caste-religion, colour-form. Because they are the pride of the country. They bring laurels to the international level. These players are dedicated to the country. They should not be judged by any caste. The whole country is with them.

NewsBust India: Have you interacted directly with the players?
Hooda: I had talked to the players in the evening when they were sitting on dharna. He had given his support. Then the players had said that they wanted to fight their own battles. They want to see the action of the government in this episode. We are not including any political party in our dharna right now. I welcomed and respected his point of view.

NewsBust India: What do you have to say about the attitude of the ruling party in this matter?
Hooda: I congratulate the players. Women players in particular deserve congratulations, who have come forward and raised their voice against the wrong. The silence of the ruling party is not correct.
