Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal revealed on Saturday that she was sexually assaulted by her father. A similar disclosure was made a few days ago by actress and member of the National Commission for Women (NCW) Khushbu Sundar.

Swati Maliwal said, “When I was young, my father used to sexually assault me. He used to beat me a lot. When he used to come home, I used to get scared and would often hide under the bed.” Along with this, she said that she plans every night how to help those women get their rights and to teach a lesson to such men who exploit children.

Elaborating further, Maliwal said that his father used to hold his braid and hang it against the wall. He said, “My head used to bleed. I believe that only when someone suffers a lot of oppression, he understands the pain of others, and it kindles a fire that can shake the whole system. “
Maliwal said that she lived with her father till the fourth grade of school and then it happened several times.
Khushbu Sundar said on Monday that at the age of 8 she was sexually abused by her father. When she was 15, she started rebelling against her father, who then left the family in the lurch.
This was revealed by Khushbu Sundar at a recent “We the Women” town hall organized by Mojo Story in Jaipur.
