Delhi Police has arrested a prominent farmer leader from Jammu in connection with the violence during the tractor parade of farmers (Protest) in the national capital on Republic Day. Officials gave this information on Tuesday. This tractor parade was taken out by the farmers against the three new agricultural laws of the Center. ‘J&K United Kisan Front’ chairman Mohinder Singh is the first person detained from Jammu in the 26 January violence case. He is a resident of Chatha in Jammu city.
Officials said they were detained on Monday night and immediately sent to Delhi for questioning. Significantly, farmers are protesting on the borders of Delhi against the three new agricultural laws of the Center. Violence took place during the tractor parade of farmers on 26 January and some protesters also placed a religious flag on the Red Fort. Singh’s family described him as innocent and demanded his immediate release.
Singh’s wife told reporters, “He told me that the senior superintendent of Jammu police has called him and he is going to the Gandhi Nagar police station.” After this, his phone started coming off. Upon questioning, I came to know that she has been arrested by the police and taken to Delhi. ”She claimed that when the violence occurred, her husband was not at the Red Fort but at the Delhi border. He said, “He had gone alone to the SSP because he had no fear.” They have not done anything wrong.
