The former deputy chief minister is facing allegations of corruption in formulating a liquor policy for the national capital. This liquor policy was canceled after Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe.
51 year old Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on Sunday evening on charges of alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the canceled liquor policy for 2021-22. At the same time, Satyendar Jain, who was the Health Minister in the Delhi government, is currently in Tihar Jail in the case of money laundering. He resigned from the Delhi cabinet on Tuesday.
A day after his arrest, Sisodia challenged the CBI’s move in the Supreme Court. On this, the court told him that he should have gone to the High Court, after which Sisodia withdrew his application and said that he would go to the lower court.
