2 accused arrested for cheating on the pretext of getting curry

Cyber Cell of East District has busted a gang who used to cheat on the pretext of getting jobs in reputed news channels of the country and used to extort 5 to 70 thousand rupees from job seekers. According to East Delhi DCP Priyanka Kashyap, Anjali Kashyap, a resident of Mandawali, was looking for a job. In July 2022, he received a call from a person claiming to be a representative of a major news channel.

He promised her a job as a reporter in a news channel and took a total of Rs.60,000/- on some pretext or the other in the name of getting the job. After this they stopped picking up his phone and also blocked his number. In the case of this fraud, a complaint was received in the Cyber Police Station on 23 July 2022.
During the investigation, information about the call detail records, bank accounts and transactions of the accused was taken. It was learned that the accused are residents of Dilshad Garden area of Delhi, on the basis of investigation, 26-year-old Vishal and 24-year-old Arbaaz Khan were arrested from Ghaziabad.
On interrogation, the accused revealed that they used to take information of job aspirants from major job portals. He would then contact her over the phone claiming to represent the placement agency under the leading news channel. After this, they used to commit fraud on the pretext of getting a job.
